EVAR time and dose data

  • A review of local practice of EVAR in terms of:
    1. Fluoroscopy time
    2. Acquisition time
    3. Total dose

Data

  • 105 EVAR are included here
  • From 2017-08-09 to 2020-09-10
  • Included are all infra-renal EVAR performed for AAA or CIAA
  • Ruptures are excluded
  • EVARs with unexpected complications which would affect times & doses are excluded
  • eg. acute thrombotic complication requiring endovascaular investigation or management
  • or acute haemorrhagic complication requiring endovascular investigation or management

Operator & type

  • EVAR adjuncts or alternatives included are:
    • Unilateral IIA embolisation
    • Bilateral IIA embolisation
    • IMA embolisation
    • Unilateral iliac branch
    • Bilateral iliac branch
    • EndoAnchors
    • Aorto-uni-iliac EVAR
    • Combinations thereof

Correlation between times and dose

Fluoroscopy time

  • Plot of total dose vs fluoroscopy time is shown below
  • The correlation is significant (p = 7.369496410^{-5})
  • The r squared for the correlation is 0.14
## `geom_smooth()` using formula 'y ~ x'

Acquisition time

  • Plot of total dose vs acquisition time is shown below
  • The correlation is significant (p = 3.035776810^{-14})
  • The r squared for the correlation is 0.43
## `geom_smooth()` using formula 'y ~ x'
